چکیده
Obesity is a significant risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease; however, the “obesity paradox”, in which obese patients enjoy superior survival, has been observed various conditions. Whether this phenomenon exists peripheral artery disease (PAD) remains uncertain. The goal of study was to evaluate relationship between body mass index (BMI) and mortality with PAD. A comprehensive literature search identified seven eligible cohort studies that reported association BMI all cause dose response meta-analysis done mortality, short term (30 day or hospital) long mortality. also assessed who received endovascular therapy (EVT). non-linear analysis showed higher values were associated lower from range 15 kg/m2 approximately 33 – 34 kg/m2. increased slightly thereafter. This consistent but not apparent U shaped EVT lowest at around 30 obesity paradox evident survival among PAD, rates patients. However, hospital

The association between body mass index and mortality among Asian peritoneal dialysis patients: A meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Previous studies have revealed that increased body mass index (BMI) is associated with decreased mortality among hemodialysis patients. However, few studies have dealt with the association between BMI and mortality among patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) and even fewer studies have focused on the Asian PD patients. The reported studies were often non-conclusive and some ev...
متن کاملBody Mass Index and Risk of Parkinson’s Disease: A Dose-Response Meta-Analysis of Prospective Studies
BACKGROUND A number of epidemiologic studies examining the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and the future occurrence of Parkinson's disease (PD) reported largely inconsistent findings. We conducted a dose-response meta-analysis of prospective studies to clarify this association. METHODS Eligible prospective studies were identified by a search of PubMed and by checking the reference...
متن کامل[Relationship between body mass index and all-cause mortality in hemodialysis patients: a meta-analysis].
OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between the different body mass index (BMI) ranges and all cause mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients. METHODS Eligible studies assessing the effects of BMI ranges on all-cause mortality (published from 1966 to 2012) were searched, using "hemodialysis/haemodialysis" and "obese/body mass index/overweight" and "mortality/survival/reverse epidemiology/obe...
متن کاملAssociation between Enuresis and Body Mass Index in Schoolchildren
BackgroundAutomatic release of urine at any time of a day during sleep beyond the age of five years defined enuresis as a health disorders in children. The etiology of enuresis is still not clearly understood. Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indicator to evaluate the growth trend of individuals in a population for any specific age group. Evaluation of obesity in children is important and provides a...
متن کاملAssociation between body mass index and breast cancer risk: evidence based on a dose–response meta-analysis
Introduction Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. The association between body mass index (BMI) and breast cancer risk has been paid more attention in the past few years, but the findings are still controversial. To obtain a more reliable conclusion, we performed a dose-response meta-analysis on 12 prospective cohort studies comprising 22,728,674 participants. Methods L...
